Audio, radio, and podcasting open up new opportunities for journalists to reach fragmented audiences and experiment with engaging storytelling formats. This workshop, held across three modules (16 hours total), is designed to spark your passion for radio and provide foundational skills in audio journalism.

Module I: Introduction to Radio Production (8 hours)

Hands-on entry into radio making.

You’ll get to know various recording devices and techniques and explore key radio/podcast elements: interviews, vox pops, and reportage. You’ll record your own audio and learn to edit your material using the open-source software Audacity, creating your first simple audio piece.

Module II: Sound Design & Live Radio (8 hours)

Dive deeper into the art of audio storytelling.

This session covers audio aesthetics, structure, and advanced editing techniques in Audacity. You’ll learn to turn your topic into an engaging audio story—combining ambient sounds, music, original quotes, multilingual elements, and more.

In the afternoon, you’ll enter the Radio ORANGE live studio, where you’ll practice creating and running a live broadcast in small groups. From managing mics and music to taking live calls—it’s a high-energy challenge that becomes a lot of fun with practice!
