Bantaba

{bán ta ba} is Wolof for a gathering under a large tree where all kinds of topics are discussed.

As part of this project, clients and employees of the Neustart association form a project editorial team. With the support of an experienced media education coach from Radio ORANGE 94.0, they learned the basics of radio by producing their own stories.

Over the course of a four-month project, editorial meetings are held every two weeks on average. In the first phase, the editorial meetings are used to find common ground and learn the basics of radio production. Participants get to know the radio station, its premises, and its members. In the second phase, programmes are produced and broadcast, accompanied by editorial meetings that provide a framework for detailed planning, monitoring, joint discussion, and coaching.
