Writing for Radio

Short, clear, and to the point — that’s what radio scripts needs to be. Unlike reading, listeners can’t go back and check a sentence again. Writing for radio means writing the way you speak, while still keeping your own style. It has its own rules, but also gives you plenty of creative freedom.

Still, getting started can be tough. When you’re trying to juggle many expectations at once, it’s easy for the writing flow to disappear. That’s why, in this workshop, we’ll show you different ways to get your ideas onto the page and turn them into strong, finished scripts.

How do you structure radio texts so they grab attention? What should you keep in mind when writing for the ear? And how do you get into a good writing flow? Over two sessions, we’ll explore these questions — and most importantly, you’ll get plenty of time to write, try things out, and exchange feedback.
