Starting at the birthplace of Austrian radio—inside the Brigittenau District Museum—the walk will cover key milestones in the development of free and independent broadcasting, culminating in a visit to the current ORANGE 94.0 studio at Gaußplatz.
Along the way, participants will hear vivid anecdotes: from remnants of former antennas still nestled in the treetops of Kahlenberg and the Lainzer Tiergarten, to the everyday adventures of radio pirates who were constantly on the lookout for postal authorities cracking down on illegal transmissions. These stories offer a lively window into the world of underground and community radio.
